Senior Infrastructure Engineer

The Role
Intergen’s Platform team are looking for a passionate, talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a successful platforms practice. You'll be working with Intergen’s valued customers, alongside an accomplished, supportive team in a collaborative atmosphere.

You will be doing:
  • Configuration, administration and migration plus on-going support of multiple on-premises, Azure and Microsoft 365 environments and workloads.
  • Proactive monitoring, issue resolution and request management via Intergen’s ticketing system.
  • Development implementation and maintenance of process automation
  • Conduct and analyse infrastructure/cloud assessments on regular or on-demand basis for gaps analysis
  • Actively communicate with peers and clients in a clear, professional, proactive manner.
  • Ensure quality delivery and best practice is applied.
  • Assist more junior members of the team to follow best practice standards.
  • Identify issues and risks and escalate.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to resolve issues and mitigate risks, help to manage client expectations.
  • Prepare and adhere to estimates for tasks and timeframes as agreed within contractual terms, scope, and budget.
  • Escalate any potential variations and communicate early where expectations may not be met.
  • Continue to develop technology, methodology and framework knowledge.
  • Obtain certifications relevant to the role.
  • Contribute to an environment of knowledge sharing and collaboration and encourage more junior members of the team to contribute.
  • Assist in the evolution of our best practice.
  • Provide technical support, fault analysis and resolution, actively managing the support queue and ensuring the Service Level Agreement (SLA) is achieved.
  • Monitor and maintain server hardware/software infrastructure.
  • Produce documentation (technical and user focused), ensuring it is both current and accurate.
  • Produce reports as required.
  • Work on internal systems and infrastructure to improve productivity and efficiency and reduce downtime (or non-chargeable time).

Have you got?
  • Minimum 5 years Microsoft infrastructure deployment and operational support experience
  • Strong Level 3 Windows servers experience
  • Expert Active directory and Azure Active Directory skills
  • Hands on experience with on-premises VMware/Hyper-V virtualised environments, Azure IaaS and PaaS, Hybrid IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365 workloads e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for business, Intune modern management for desktops and mobile devices
  • Strong infrastructure monitoring and automation skills
  • ITIL Foundations v3/4 Certification
  • Strong scripting skills to support automation efforts (PowerShell)
