Senior Infrastructure Engineer

The Role

We’re a Cloud platform implementation and monitoring team that enjoys putting on a lot of different hats and we operate on a model of high ownership. This means everyone on the team helps to build, support, monitor, and troubleshoot our customer's solutions and platforms in production.

Every day is different, some days you are at a customer's site (project delivery) and other days you are monitoring alerts from our on premises, hybrid and Azure cloud infrastructure platforms. You will bring to us your experience with working with private datacentre infrastructure such as Server Hardware installation and a solid understanding of storage area networks (SAN) and LUN.
  
Your Experience

• Minimum 7+ years’ experience as a System Engineer/Administrator supporting Windows servers virtualised in both private and public cloud infrastructure
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy environment
• Proven experience writing compelling SOW’s and winning Work Requests
• Proven experience building documents and design diagrams
• Extensive experience managing Microsoft technologies and other corporate technologies
• Demonstrated interest in Cloud Platforms and its impact on greater business practices
• Experience working in tandem with a team, or alone as required
• Experience working on call - weekends and evenings and managing incidents and cases through Service Now

Your Technical Experience

• Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS
• Cloud services, e.g. Office365, MS365, Azure AD, SharePoint, Intune, Teams
• Desktop and laptop deployment & support (windows 10)
• Experience with Virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V preferred)
• MS Exchange (2013, 2016, Online)
• Experience and understanding of Windows OS, Linux is desired
• Strong understanding of network protocols - including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks
• Firewalls/switches experience desirable (e.g. Fortigate, Cisco)
• Security (MS Security Centre, Azure Monitor)
• Active Directory and related IDAM concepts
• Backup & Recovery technologies – e.g. Azure backup or Commvault

Must be NZ Citizen or Perm Resident for 5+years in order to obtain and maintain CONFIDENTIAL Security Clearance.
