Senior Consultant - Data and AI

Empired’s Data and AI Practice is expanding rapidly, and this critical role will lead the day to day delivery and management of key projects. In partnership with our project management team, you will have oversight of technical architecture, project scope and plans, solution delivery and risk escalation.

As an industry-leader you’ll have chosen to specialise on Microsoft’s data platform and looking for a place to call home who’s made that same commitment recognising Microsoft’s the market leader in the cloud analytics, data warehouse and data visualisation solutions. You’ll be looking for a mature Data and Analytics practice that has strong partnerships with other industry leaders like Informactica so you can deliver truly enterprise-wide outcomes.
You’ll have exceptional stakeholder relationship management skills coupled with technical leadership and solution ownership. You will lead a development team and act as a mentor to your colleagues, helping them to learn and perfect new skills.

The Role:
To succeed at Empired you will have a deep understanding and experience of enterprise data architecture patterns and processes including:

• A proven track record in delivering data-oriented solutions utilising big data, data warehousing, operational insight, data management or business intelligence.
• Clear written and verbal communications; able to communicate with a wide range of people and to gather requirements and produce written designs and architecture documents.
• Design and develop cloud data warehouses across multiple domains.
• Experience in development of complex data pipelines and transformations (ETL’s) using SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Azure Databricks.
• Experience of database performance tuning utilising a range of indexing technology including Column Store.
• In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Modern Data Platform including SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Analysis Services, Azure SQL Data Warehouse or Azure Synapse.
• Experience with deployment and build pipelines (CI/CD) and care about the role automation plays in a wider sense including testing too.
• Strong capabilities in requirements gathering and data modelling.
• Design and develop complex reports using SSRS and dashboards with Power BI or equivalent (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Spotfire etc). 

We will consider candidates with a desire to up-skill from their traditional BI skillset (SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS) to the more advanced analytics and data engineering technologies.
