The opportunity
Empired's Networks & Security team are looking for a passionate, talented Senior Network Engineer to join a successful practice. You'll be working within a varied, complex project role with Empired's valued customers, working alongside an accomplished team in a collaborative atmosphere.
  
The role will be a mixture of customer project work under the leadership of a project manager for short to medium term engagements, as well as alongside Managed Services team to support our mix of private and government clients across all industries.  These activities include:

• Network design and documentation
• Customer engagement and operational meetings for technical demonstrations where required
• Communication and recommendations of risks and issues discovered
• Technical problem escalation and troubleshooting
• Internal Team meetings

What would we like to see from you?

• 3+ years of experience in managing corporate network environments
• Experience with Data centre and Campus concepts and design
• Experience with Load Balancer technologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Solid implementation and documentation skills
• Experience liaising with and working alongside engineers from other technology groups such as Virtualisation, Storage, Microsoft Engineers as well as collaboratively engaging with business stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
• Understand and explore new technologies quickly

  
And we would love to see:

• CCNA / CCNP
• F5 Big-IP or/and Citrix experience
• Wireless experience/certification would be well received
• Check Point/Fortigate knowledge (multiple firewalls in a distributed deployment)
• Certifications in either / or Fortinet, Checkpoint, and Palo Alto
