About our Client

Our client is Western Australia's largest and most highly regarded Private Health Insurer with more than 900,000 members. They provide a large range of insurance including health, car, travel, home, contents & personal valuables, caravan, trailer, life and boat.

The situation

As part of a key strategic business decision, our client sold the general insurance component of the business so they could focus purely on Health Insurance. Following this, there was a requirement to regularly transfer insurance data (quotes, policies, renewals and claims) between the other insurance company’s systems and our client’s CRM system to enable call centre staff to view up-to-date information. During this transition it was critical that customer service and satisfaction levels were maintained for our client’s members.

The solution

Empired developed an enterprise scale service oriented that consisted of services receiving important insurance data from the other insurance company that could then be then validated, transformed and enriched before being synchronised to the client’s core CRM system.

The solution was built to conform to open standards and industry best practices and uses TIBCO as the key technology. This enabled rapid development of integration between the disparate systems and enabled re-use of existing processes and infrastructure.

The benefits

The solution gave our client the ability to sell the general insurance component of their business so they could focus on Health Insurance. It provided up-to-date insurance information to call centre staff and enabled the seamless transition of information between both parties whilst upholding customer satisfaction levels.
