Dynamics Day 2015: Event Roundup

6 November 2015

6 November 2015 - Last Tuesday saw one of the biggest industry events on Empired’s calendar: the Dynamics Day Conference, held in Sydney at Cockle Bay Wharf.

Close to 150 Microsoft Dynamics enthusiasts braved wild weather to attend the day’s proceedings, which opened with a warm welcome from Mike Morgan, Empired General Manager and John Leonard, Microsoft Australia Dynamics Lead. Following that, guests were fortunate to hear more on the Microsoft vision from John Hennessey, Director Corporate Accounts at Microsoft Australia. Hennessey outlined the major strategies of Microsoft in the coming year and demonstrated through customer stories and videos the ways in which Microsoft is changing the productivity and business landscapes of Australia through technology. He also gave us some insight into how he manages his business within Microsoft and how technology enables him to do that.

One of the highlights of Dynamics Day was the Q&A session with Pip Marlow, Managing Director of Microsoft Australia. Pip talked openly about the transformation of Microsoft across the last few years including shifts towards activity based working and away from hierarchies. She also talked about leadership values and behaviours and what it takes to lead an organisation like Microsoft, which afforded attendees with some valuable insights.

The day concluded with a highly anticipated locknote presentation by David Rohrsheim, the General Manager of Uber throughout Australia and New Zealand. During an entertaining and informative session, he outlined the environment in which Uber was able to thrive and grow and some of the potential directions (and disruptions) the company is looking to take during its next evolution.

Overall, Dynamics Day 2015 provided attendees with detailed and insightful overviews of Dynamics hot topics, and fantastic opportunities for networking and information sharing – everything from Microsoft’s big picture vision for the not-so-distant future to the sharing of real world customer stories and product demos.

Thank you to all those who attended, assisted and supported Empired in holding this terrific event, and we are already excited to plan DD16!
