Intergen secures digital transformation contract with the Department of Internal Affairs

11 September 2018

Wellington, New Zealand — September 11, 2018 — Intergen, the New Zealand-based subsidiary of ASX-listed Empired Limited, has been selected to deliver core components for the Department of Internal Affairs’ Te Ara Manaaki customer experience transformation programme, which is set to reimagine the way New Zealanders access government services.

The execution of contract documentation was completed at a signing ceremony on Tuesday 11 September, with an initial term of five years, plus two 2-year options to extend. As a key partner to the programme, Intergen expects to assist DIA with a range of additional services throughout the life of the programme.

The programme is charged with putting customers at the heart of identity and life event services, and making it easier for them to access these services.

With the development of online and mobile platforms, customers will be able to access the services they require, at a time and in a manner of their choosing.

The Department is the steward of New Zealanders’ identity and life event information, including birth and death certificates, marriage licences and certificates, passports, citizenship and other travel documents.

Simon Bright, Chief Operating Officer, Empired, said, “It is a true privilege for our team to be able to play a role in this highly impactful programme. We are excited to have the opportunity to change the way public services are made available to each of us in New Zealand.”
