Technical Architect


As a delivery technical architect within our Platform Services team you will perform a pivotal role for our managed service customers.

As a delivery technical architect within our Platform Services team you will perform a pivotal role for our managed service customers. You will embed within a small number of customers, live and breathe their technology portfolios and help guide their evolution. This is a technical, hands-on architecture role so your skills need to be current. 
You will have demonstrated ability to build technical road-maps that keep our customers’ environments business aligned, secure and minimise technical debt.  All the while ensuring that proposed solution architectures align to the customer’s organisational goals.  You will have a solid understanding of on-premises infrastructure (networks, routers, switches, firewalls, SANs, servers and operating systems form a part of the solution stack)as well as solid understanding of Microsoft Azure – focus on IaaS but PaaS also advantageous.

You will also need experience in:

  • Experience with Azure, CommVault, NetApp, VMWare, Citrix, and basic networking
  • Written requirements – proven experience in creating IT roadmaps, technology roadmaps, capacity plans, infrastructure overview diagrams, provide formal proposals and quotes
  • Act as an initial go to point for the SDM/AM/PM for new opportunities that require clarification and customer interaction prior to them being formally entered as a proposal request.
  • Be actively engaged with the clients and have an intimate understanding of business goals and issues
  • provide innovation and thought leadership in developing solutions and proposals to address client IT/Business issues
  • Participate in Architecture meetings
  • Make themselves accessible to the delivery teams and the customer as and when required in the pre-sales role.
  • meet face to face with key stakeholders early in the role to form the relationship and be formally recognised as fulfilling this particular role in an ongoing capacity.
  • keep track of active requests for their account, attends regular customer pipeline review meetings and reports statuses as required
  • Be across all requests in the pipeline for their designated account(s), attend regular meetings to discuss the pipeline and follow up issues as required
  • Ensure Committed SLA’s are defined for Proposal and SoW delivery for consistent expectations
  • Ensure that requests are clarified and documented as quickly and accurately as possible so that they can be formally entered into tracking systems, assigned out and then managed effectively
  • Need Client, Senior Management and AM buy-in to utilise this resource in the right manner
