Desktop Engineer - Corporate Services

The Role

As a Desktop Engineer within in our Corporate Services Team you will be responsible for ensuring that all systems and any devices are fully operational for staff across the country. You'll be providing 2nd level assistance with all Windows, Active Directory, Office 365 and general IT breakdown queries.

The Person

To fit in with us, you will need to be a passionate, motivated and customer focused Desktop Engineer. You will be ambitious for success and, as a confident service delivery advocate, you will be at ease working with and responding to your customer's needs and enjoy sharing your knowledge with your peers.
You will have proven desktop support skills, preferably in a similar environment, where going above and beyond is part of your 'everyday' life. You'll be familiar with ITIL and have a good overall understanding of infrastructure and Microsoft applications like SharePoint and Office 365 to name but a few.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Offer levels 1 through 2 level desktop support to end-users running Windows OS devices
  • Participate in the implementation of technologies relating to SOE
  • Analyse, diagnose and resolve complex desktop end user problems and suggest corrective solutions.
  • Document processes and procedures for maintenance and support.
  • Execute, document and maintain desktop security standards as per ICT security policies.
  • Handle system administration of desktop asset management software tools.
  • Review and test deployment updates through SCCM equivalent tools

In addition, to be considered for the role you will have:

  • 2-3 years minimum experience in Service Desk and Desktop related roles
  • Enterprise level technical support and customer-oriented service experience
  • Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops and tablets running a Windows OS (Win 7, 8.1 and/or 10)
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting common enterprise applications (MS Office, Office 365, Lync, Skype for Business, SharePoint)
  • Ability to work with composure and professionalism when dealing with multiple demands
  • An appetite for continued learning, continuous improvement activities and modernisation projects
  • Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Server & Cloud platforms including Active Directory, and Office 365
  • Experience with Microsoft System Centre 2012 and/or Microsoft Intune
  • ITIL v3, MCITP/MCTS and/or relevant technical qualifications highly regarded
